Endeavour Group is hiring a Senior UX Designer / Design Technologist within its Customer, Digital and Data team to bridge user experience and front-end engineering and to evolve a multi-brand design system for BWS and Dan Murphy's. The role involves pioneering code-first workflows and agentic AI coding tools (including Model Context Protocol) and contributing across responsive web and native mobile applications. The position operates hybrid from the Barangaroo office: 3 days on site, 2 days remote.
What you'll do:
- Direct the evolution of the enterprise design system to deliver distinct yet unified digital experiences for BWS and Dan Murphy's.
- Pioneer code-first workflows using agentic AI coding tools and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to streamline tooling, reduce manual effort, and accelerate UI exploration.
- Own and evolve a multi-brand design system architecture across web and native mobile apps (React Native), balancing consistency with brand differentiation.
- Architect and maintain a scalable design token hierarchy enforcing clean code separation, accessibility compliance, and multi-brand scaling.
- Build intuitive, WCAG-compliant UI components using modern libraries such as Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, establishing code as the primary source of truth.
- Translate user needs into functional code prototypes and sandbox proofs-of-concept using AI-assisted tools to validate complex interaction models early.
- Partner with front-end engineers via Git pull requests, code reviews, and shared tooling to maintain component quality and system alignment.
- Lead interactive workshops with Product Managers, Engineers, Delivery Leads, and external partners to unpack component needs and resolve technical constraints.
What they're looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or design technology within modern digital environments, ideally in large-scale retail eCommerce.
- Designer background with strong systems thinking, human-centred design principles, and high visual standards.
- Practical working knowledge of front-end technologies (React, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui) and Git version control and pull request workflows.
- Proven experience creating, maintaining, and scaling multi-brand component libraries and design token structures in code.
- Exposure to or keen interest in cross-platform design systems spanning responsive web and native mobile (React Native).
- Explored in depth or adopted agentic AI coding tools and MCP workflows to accelerate prototyping and modernise design technology practices.
- Ability to articulate technical and design concepts clearly and build strong cross-functional relationships with product, delivery, and engineering peers.
- Continuous learning mindset and openness to apply even if not meeting every listed technology (e.g., AEM or Salesforce Commerce Cloud) requirement.
