Instyle Environments is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Labourer to join our team in Canberra. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces for our clients. As a Grounds Maintenance Labourer, you will be responsible for ensuring that landscapes remain in pristine condition throughout the year.
Key responsibilities:
- Performing regular lawn mowing, edging, and trimming to maintain neat and well-manicured garden areas.
- Conducting garden bed maintenance, including weeding, mulching, and planting of seasonal flowers and plants.
- Maintaining garden paths, and outdoor hardscaping through sweeping, leaf removal, and debris clearance.
- Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment including ride-on mowers, trimmers, hedgers, and leaf blowers.
- Carrying out irrigation system checks and maintenance.
- Identifying and treating common pests, diseases, and weeds (good acumen of IPM).
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Working safely and adhering to all health and safety regulations on client sites.
- Communicating effectively with management regarding site conditions and maintenance requirements.
What we're looking for:
- Strong knowledge of turf care, plant maintenance, and irrigation well-regarded.
- Competency with equipment and machinery, with ability to operate safely and maintain tools.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Current driver licence and ability to drive manual vehicles.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance are advantageous.
