The opportunity to join our team:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Privacy Officer to join our team. Working across customer, marketing, advice and digital initiatives, you'll provide practical guidance that helps teams handle customer information responsibly while maintaining trust.

We're looking for someone with energy, curiosity and strong relationship-building skills. You'll work closely with teams across Advice & Customer and the broader business, helping them navigate privacy considerations and find practical ways to deliver great customer outcomes while managing privacy risk.

You'll join a small, experienced Privacy team that genuinely enjoys what they do and cares about helping the business get things right. If you're someone who loves building relationships, navigating complexity and helping businesses make smart decisions while protecting customer information, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide practical privacy advice across business operations, customer engagement, marketing, communications, advice, digital, and technology initiatives.
  • Partner with stakeholders early in the lifecycle of projects, campaigns and business changes to identify privacy risks and opportunities.
  • Support privacy awareness, education and capability uplift across the business.
  • Embed privacy-by-design principles across business and technology initiatives.
  • Support privacy assessments and provide advice on data use, customer information handling, consent management, third-party arrangements, access controls, information sharing and data flows.
  • Support privacy incident and breach management, including triage, investigation support, remediation and notifications.
  • Contribute to privacy governance, frameworks, standards and continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor privacy controls, identify trends and emerging risks, and contribute to risk reporting and remediation activities.

What You Bring to This Role:

This is the perfect role for a privacy professional who wants to do more than review policies and provide advice from the sidelines. You'll enjoy engaging with stakeholders, thinking critically and bringing energy to work. You will have:

  • Experience working in privacy, risk, compliance, legal, governance or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and privacy risk management principles.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • The ability to balance regulatory obligations with commercial outcomes.
  • Experience working with customer data, marketing practices, digital channels or customer communications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical advice.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for helping people navigate challenges.
  • Experience within financial services will be highly regarded.
