About the role

You will lead delivery end to end. That covers planning, scheduling, budget control, risk management and governance. You'll manage technical and business teams and large vendors, and keep senior stakeholders informed with clear, executive-ready reporting. You may run several projects at once to tight timeframes.

Core requirements (all streams)

  • Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance (or higher). Based in Canberra, ACT.
  • Developing foundational project artefacts and managing the schedule, budget and project team
  • Active management of risks, dependencies, issues and procurement
  • Managing vendors and contractual obligations to achieve results in short timeframes
  • Managing complex stakeholder environments and coordinating multiple technical and business delivery teams
  • Compliance with client project management standards, ICT governance frameworks, security requirements and accreditation processes
  • Excellent communication and leadership, plus strong reporting to executive and governance bodies
  • Project management qualifications (e.g. PMP/PgMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AIPM certification, Agile) or a degree in project or program management

Stream A: End-user ICT infrastructure, relocation and migration

  • Large-scale end-user ICT build, relocation and decommissioning projects
  • End-user ICT migration activities with minimal unplanned service disruption
  • Solid understanding of desktop, print, LAN/WAN, audio visual and security principles
  • Running multiple concurrent projects, with operational handover into production and support
  • Desirable: Defence ICT infrastructure delivery, and technology refresh or infrastructure modernisation programs

Stream B: Cyber and security capability delivery

  • Desirable experience delivering CSOC/SIEM, vulnerability management, security case management or threat intelligence projects

Stream C: Program management for secure Defence ICT (10+ years)

  • 10+ years of program management experience (12+ preferred), ideally in secure ICT systems in the Defence domain
  • Developing program management artefacts and strong knowledge of MS Office and Atlassian Jira
  • Understanding of Defence Capability System policy and processes
  • Network integration experience within the ADF, including interfaces to strategic network boundaries
