About the Role
We are seeking a Qualified Chef to join our team at our facility in Mt Lofty.
You will manage kitchen operations, prepare meals, and lead a small team to deliver healthy, nutritious, home‐style meals for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals that meet individual resident dietary requirements, including special diets and texture‐modified foods.
- Plan menus and develop recipes.
- Control food costs within budget, conduct stock takes, and place orders.
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts.
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques in compliance with food safety legislation.
- Follow cleaning schedules and documentation requirements; perform regular audits.
- Ensure team complies with strict food safety and hygiene standards in aged care.
- Lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen team to provide outstanding customer service and quality food.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience managing food costs and a kitchen in an aged care or retirement living environment.
- Trade qualification in commercial cooking.
- Enthusiastic and proud of delivering high‐quality service and food.
- Ability to work a 7‐day roster.
- Resident‐centered customer service orientation.
- Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.
