About the Role:
The Maintenance Officer/ Gardener is responsible for maintaining the health unit’s facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment. The role involves carrying out a range of general maintenance tasks across both interior and exterior areas, including rubbish collection, carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor mechanical work, and grounds maintenance.
What We're Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience in building and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to safely use a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to workplace safety and customer service.
Desired Criteria
- Successful completion of Year 11 or equivalent.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Forklift Licence or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated manual handling skills
