Do you enjoy working outdoors? Take pride in a job well done? Looking for a supportive workplace where you can build your skills and be part of a great team?

Hunter Commercial Services (HCS) is a social enterprise of Kurri Kurri Community Services (KKCS). We are looking for a reliable and motivated Grounds Crew Member to join their team.

HCS provides professional grounds maintenance and commercial cleaning services across the Hunter, while creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability.

This is an employment opportunity, with support and workplace adjustments considered where appropriate.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside an established grounds maintenance team, you'll help maintain outdoor spaces and keep client sites looking their best.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mowing lawns, edging, trimming and brush cutting.
  • General gardening, raking and maintaining outdoor areas.
  • Rubbish removal and keeping worksites clean and tidy.
  • Safely operating and looking after grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Completing basic equipment checks and reporting any issues.
  • Following WHS procedures and identifying potential hazards.
  • Working collaboratively with your crew to complete jobs to a high standard.

What we're looking for

You don't need years of experience in grounds maintenance. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in outdoor work.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A reliable approach to work and a willingness to get involved.
  • An interest in gardening, mowing or general outdoor maintenance.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work safely.
  • Pride in completing tasks properly and paying attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and receive feedback.
  • The ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
  • Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping or equipment experience would be great, but it's not essential.
  • A valid White Card (General Construction Induction)
  • Ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check

Why join Hunter Commercial Services?

  • Permanent part-time employment – 19.5 contracted hours each week.
  • Work outdoors – enjoy variety and hands on work across different sites.
  • Supportive team environment – work alongside people with different skills, experiences and abilities.
  • Learn and develop – build practical skills with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Meaningful work – join a social enterprise committed to creating inclusive employment opportunities.

We'd love to hear from you! Whether you've worked in grounds maintenance before or are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, we'd love to hear what you could bring to the team.
