Q1ST Painting is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our growing team.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and detail-oriented professional who can deliver high-quality painting and decorating services across residential and commercial projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces by removing old paint, wallpaper, loose material and imperfections.
• Cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks and holes, and smoothing surfaces before painting.
• Applying primers, sealers and undercoats to ensure proper adhesion and durability.
• Selecting and preparing paints, varnishes, stains and other finishing materials.
• Mixing paints and matching colours to meet project specifications.
• Applying paint, varnish and other finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
• Erecting scaffolding, ladders and other access equipment safely when required.
• Applying decorative finishes, textures and protective coatings.
• Measuring surfaces and estimating quantities of paint and materials required.
• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and job specifications.
• Ensuring all painting work meets quality standards and client expectations.
• Maintaining painting tools, equipment and a clean, safe work environment.
• Following workplace health and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent relevant qualification) is highly desirable.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant painting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in residential and commercial painting.
• Sound knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation and finishing methods.
• Ability to operate painting tools, spray equipment and other relevant machinery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver's licence is desirable.
