Our client is a Commonwealth regulatory agency based in Canberra, responsible for administering and enforcing a suite of national laws. Its People and Capability Branch supports the agency's workforce through HR policy, guidance and services, and is currently developing a consistent, accessible set of intranet content for staff and managers.
This role sits within the People and Capability team and exists to give staff and managers one clear, reliable place to find HR information. You'll review existing HR policy and guidance content, work out what applies to the agency, adapt it, and take it through subject matter expert review to publication. It is an initial 6-month labour hire engagement with the possibility of extension, and the agency is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
You will have the chance to:
- Shape how an entire workforce finds and uses its HR information
- Work across a broad range of HR subject areas, building knowledge that transfers to any APS People function
- Build hands-on SharePoint Online experience, from page creation through to content libraries
- Work directly with HR subject matter experts and the Communications team, with visibility across the agency
This is a hands-on content role: you will take HR material from first review through to accurate, published intranet pages. You'll be responsible for:
- Reviewing existing People and Capability intranet content and identifying the material relevant to the agency
- Analysing and mapping HR policies, procedures, guidance and resources to determine what needs adapting
- Drafting and updating intranet content with HR subject matter experts, and preparing new pages for review and approval
- Coordinating content reviews and clearances with relevant stakeholders
- Working with the Communications team on content design, publication standards and implementation
- Building and maintaining SharePoint Online pages and content libraries
- Keeping content accurate, accessible and current, in line with agency governance requirements
- Monitoring content currency and coordinating updates as policies, procedures or structures change
- Maintaining content tracking registers and document review schedules
- Actioning amendment requests from business areas and subject matter experts, and supporting wider People and Capability communication and knowledge management work
You might come from a content, communications or HR administration background. What matters most is that you can pick up dense policy material quickly, turn it into clear pages people can actually use, and keep plenty of stakeholders and approvals moving at once.
You will bring the following skills and experience:
- Experience preparing, reviewing or maintaining intranet, web or knowledge management content
- Strong writing skills, including turning complex information into clear, user-friendly content
- Experience working with stakeholders to gather information, coordinate reviews and secure approvals
- Sound organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to quality assurance
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- The ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check
It's also desirable if you have:
- Experience using SharePoint Online, including page creation and content management
- Knowledge of APS employment frameworks
- Experience supporting content governance, document management or communications activities
- A current Baseline security clearance
- Experience working in a government environment
Salary / Rate: $45/hr - $60/hr + Super. Labour hire contract for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Immediate start available.
