Brisbane | Full-time | Global Agriculture & Food Business

Shape the voice and reputation of a growing global business. We're looking for a commercially minded, high-performing Communications Manager to help shape how Hewitt tells its story, engages its people and builds its reputation across Australia, the USA and beyond. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and working within the Office of the CEO, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, influence how a growing international business communicates and shape how Hewitt positions itself on the global stage.

About Hewitt

Hewitt is an Australian-founded, global agriculture and food business producing better-for-you protein through organic, grass-fed and high-claims fresh red meat products that support healthier people and communities. With 13 major agricultural properties across some of Australia's most iconic landscapes and state-of-the-art offices in Brisbane, Australia, and Vermont, USA, our operations span the entire supply chain, from livestock production through to branded products on retail shelves around the world. With established, market-leading brands, partnerships with major retailers including Coles, Woolworths and Whole Foods Market, and ambitious plans for international expansion, we're entering an exciting new phase of growth.

About The Opportunity

This is a newly created role with the opportunity to shape the future of communications at Hewitt. You’ll take ownership of our internal and external communications, helping define what Hewitt is known for, how we communicate our unique position in the global food industry and how we engage the people and stakeholders who matter most to our business. From executive communications and media relations to employee engagement, corporate storytelling and reputation management, you’ll play a central role in building Hewitt's global profile.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Corporate Communications & Strategy: Develop and lead Hewitt's corporate communications strategy across international markets, strengthening brand positioning, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Executive Communications: Work closely with the Office of the CEO and executive leadership team to develop speeches, announcements, thought leadership and strategic business communications.
  • Media & Public Relations: Build strong relationships with media and industry stakeholders, proactively identifying opportunities to increase Hewitt's visibility, credibility and influence.
  • Internal Communications: Shape how we communicate with and engage more than 1,000 employees across business units and international markets, including organisational change, culture and safety communications.
  • Corporate Storytelling: Bring Hewitt's business, brands, sustainability initiatives and growth story to life through engaging content across corporate, digital and internal channels.
  • Reputation & Issues Management: Identify reputational risks, develop crisis communications protocols and support senior leadership through complex or sensitive communications challenges.
  • Performance & Insights: Measure communications effectiveness and use data to continually improve audience engagement, reach and impact.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a commercially astute communicator who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution. You’ll be confident working with senior executives, comfortable navigating complex business environments and capable of translating business priorities into communications that build trust, influence and commercial value.

You’ll Bring

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in corporate communications, corporate affairs, public relations or a related field, ideally within a complex or high-profile organisation.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline.
  • Proven Portfolio: Demonstrated experience producing high-quality corporate communications, including media releases, executive messaging, thought leadership, presentations and corporate documentation.
  • Commercial Mindset: The ability to understand business priorities, identify opportunities and develop communications that support strategic and commercial objectives.
  • Executive & Stakeholder Engagement: Confidence working with senior executives, building relationships and communicating effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Media & Reputation Management: Experience managing media relationships, sensitive communications and reputational issues with sound judgement and discretion.
  • Digital & Data Capability: Strong knowledge of digital communications platforms, social media and the ability to measure performance and use insights to improve results.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in food, FMCG, agriculture, sustainability or related industries will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you're ambitious, proactive and motivated by the opportunity to build something meaningful, rather than simply maintain what's already in place.

Why Build Your Career at Hewitt?

  • Global Company: Be part of an international business with opportunities to work from our head offices in Brisbane, Australia, and Vermont, USA.
  • Sophisticated Operations: Join a business with more than 1,000 employees, state-of-the-art offices, established processes and systems, and the resources to support high performance.
  • Market-Leading Brand Portfolio: Work alongside some of the highest-performing fresh red meat brands in Australia and the USA, including Cleaver's Organic and Organic Rancher, backed by Hewitt's unique vertically integrated operations, product quality and established retail partnerships.
  • Competitive Benefits: Enjoy competitive remuneration, an annual professional development budget, free Employee Assistance Program services and mentorship from an experienced executive leadership team.
  • Culture of Excellence: Build your career in a high-performance environment with exposure to experienced industry leaders, global business operations and a culture that values ambition, accountability and high standards.
  • Unique Work Experiences: Experience parts of Australia few people get to see, with opportunities for work-related travel to Hewitt’s iconic agricultural properties, including overnight station stays.

Ready to Make an Impact? If you’re an ambitious communications professional looking for greater ownership, executive exposure and the opportunity to shape the reputation of a growing global business, we’d love to hear from you.
