Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record and update patient information in electronic or paper‐based systems.
- File, retrieve, and maintain patient records in a logical and efficient manner.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to privacy regulations and confidentiality policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Provide access to medical records and documentation required for patient care.
- Work with medical staff to address issues related to missing documents or clinical notes.
- Create and maintain a database of patient records.
- Ensure the security of patient files and databases.
Essential Criteria
- Organizational skills: keep records organized and readily accessible.
- Communication skills: effectively communicate with patients and healthcare staff.
- Data entry and computer skills: proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other software.
- Problem‐solving skills: address issues related to missing documents or data discrepancies.
- Attention to detail: accuracy is essential.
- Understanding and adherence to privacy regulations.

- Knowledge of private sector funding models in Australia.
