Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training. In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunisations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.
We're offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus for compassionate and experienced Mental Health Registered Nurses to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team based in the Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre, WA. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing substance use challenges while ensuring a safe and supportive environment within a primary care framework. Be part of a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering high quality, person-centred and trauma-informed care.
You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, create care plans, implement and evaluate care plans to support and improve the health and wellbeing of individuals in detention. This role offers a diverse clinical scope, including immunisations, blood collection, wound care, health assessments, care planning, medication administration, and health education. You'll provide care that respects the dignity, culture, values, and rights of each person, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and compassionate healthcare environment.
Let's talk about you! You are an AHPRA-registered Nurse (General, unrestricted) with at least five years of clinical experience, including hands-on patient care in mental health in an operational (non-Telehealth) setting. You hold a postgraduate qualification in mental health (AQF-recognised) and bring strong prioritisation, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you adapt easily to changing circumstances while delivering high-quality care that meets the evolving needs of detainees.
