What You'll Be Doing:

  • Embedded in the ACE unit at Lyell McEwin Health Service, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to older adults presenting with acute and often multifaceted conditions.
  • Working within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, your key responsibilities will include:
    • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised care for acutely unwell elderly patients
    • Collaborating with medical, allied health, and support staff to coordinate safe, timely patient journeys
    • Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration using established escalation frameworks
    • Contributing to a ward culture that upholds patient dignity, family involvement, and evidence-based practice

What You'll Bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated experience in an acute inpatient setting, ideally with older adult or general medical populations
  • Sound clinical assessment skills and confidence managing complex, co-morbid presentations
  • Ability to work effectively within a large public health network and adapt to the pace of a busy metro hospital
  • A commitment to person-centred, culturally safe care consistent with SA Health's Care Always values
  • Understanding of, or willingness to develop skills in, comprehensive geriatric assessment principles

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
