HCLTech is looking for an experienced Spatial Software Engineer / GIS Developer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong expertise in GIS technologies, web application development, cloud platforms, and spatial data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale spatial and GIS applications.
- Develop web-based and client-server applications using modern GIS and software engineering practices.
- Build and integrate geospatial solutions using ArcGIS technologies and spatial databases.
- Develop APIs, services, and cloud-based solutions to support business requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and ongoing application support.
Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computing, Information Technology, Spatial Technologies, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience with spatial technologies.
- Strong hands‑on experience in:
- JavaScript (ESRI JSAPI, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox, React)
- Java
- Python
- HTML/XML
- ArcGIS Server
- Extensive experience with:
- PostgreSQL
- Oracle
- SQL Server
- SQL Development
- Object‑Oriented Design (OOD)
- Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience with AWS Cloud services, including AWS Lambda.
- Proficiency with development and collaboration tools: Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code, Jira, Confluence.
Preferred Skills
- Experience delivering enterprise GIS platforms and location intelligence solutions.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and microservices.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
