Role Overview
The Azure Cloud Developer will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure.
Working closely with technical teams, architects and business stakeholders, you will develop APIs, integration services and automated workflows that support the collection, validation, processing and reporting of data.
You will also contribute to cloud security, deployment automation and system reliability, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient and aligned with relevant technical and security standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy and maintain cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Develop APIs and integration services to support secure data exchange between systems.
- Build data ingestion, transformation, validation and processing workflows.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code to automate deployment and testing.
- Apply cloud security best practices and support compliance with relevant government security requirements.
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to improve system performance, reliability and availability.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, data specialists and external technical teams.
- Contribute to technical design decisions, code quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Azure Functions, App Services, API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage Services and Key Vault.
- Familiarity with Azure Container Apps or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep, ARM Templates or Terraform.
- Strong understanding of API development, REST APIs, JSON, event-driven architecture and messaging services.
- Experience with data processing, transformation, validation and integration.
- Understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, authentication and authorisation.
- Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops practices and cloud-native engineering principles.
- Experience in government or highly regulated environments, with familiarity with IRAP and Australian Government security standards, will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality, security and delivery outcomes.
