A-Player Heavy Diesel Mechanic in Coolum Beach

If you’ve been scrolling through job ads reading…“We are seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team…” and wondering whether there’s actually a workshop on the Sunshine Coast where you can love coming to work, be appreciated for what you do and build a serious career… You may have just found it.

We’re Harlens Heavy Diesel Services. We’re a family-owned heavy diesel business based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We’re growing fast. And right now, we’re looking for another A-player Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Technician to become part of our crew.

Right now, there are only four of us. That means if you join Harlens today, you’re getting in while we’re still small enough for your contribution to genuinely matter… But growing quickly enough that the opportunities ahead are massive. We want someone who can grow with us.

Maybe that eventually means becoming a leading hand. Maybe workshop management. Maybe mentoring apprentices. Maybe helping us build and lead an entire division that doesn't even exist yet. As Harlens grows, we want our people to grow with it.

SO, WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We want someone who knows their way around heavy diesel machinery and takes genuine pride in their work. Someone who can diagnose a problem rather than just throw parts at it. Someone who gives a damn about doing the job properly. Someone who doesn't need the boss standing behind them every five minutes asking whether the job's finished. And most importantly… Someone who wants to be part of a team.

• Are a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Technician
• Take pride in producing bloody good work
• Can diagnose, service and repair heavy diesel equipment
• Are reliable and actually turn up when you say you will
• Can work independently but love being part of a small crew
• Have a great attitude and don't bring unnecessary drama to work
• Want to continue learning and becoming better at your trade
• Want more than simply collecting a pay cheque every Friday
• See yourself eventually taking on more responsibility as the company grows

WHY JOIN HARLENS?

This is where things get exciting. Harlen's isn't a massive company where your name gets replaced by an employee number. We’re a growing family business. You'll work directly alongside the people building the company. Your ideas can actually be heard. Your hard work gets noticed. Your wins matter. And because we're growing rapidly, there is genuine opportunity to build a long-term career here.

We're looking for someone who can look back in five or ten years and say: “I joined Harlen's when there were only four of us.” That's the opportunity. Get in early. Help us build something awesome. And create a position for yourself that can grow as big as you're willing to make it.

BUT BEFORE YOU GET TOO EXCITED…

This won't suit everyone. If your favourite workshop tool is your phone… Probably not for you. If “close enough” is your personal quality-control system… Definitely not for you. And if you're looking for somewhere you can hide in the corner, do the bare minimum and disappear at knock-off… You’ll hate it here.

But… If you're bloody good at what you do… You take pride in your workmanship… And you'd love the opportunity to help build one of the Sunshine Coast's growing heavy diesel businesses… We want to hear from you.
