Lead from the Front β€” Hands-On Site Management Role

About The Company

Our client is a small commercial construction business based in Toowoomba, specialising in fit-outs and smaller commercial builds. They pride themselves on positive partnerships and project outcomes β€” a core value that's earned them long-term relationships with key industry brands across the sectors they work in. Built on communication and accountability, they're known for doing what they say they'll do, delivering on time and on budget, and treating their suppliers and contractors as well as their clients. It's a close-knit team that values reliability, fair reward for effort, and a genuine quality of life away from work.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the construction process on site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and project specifications
  • Coordinating with stakeholders β€” architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients β€” to keep projects on track
  • Managing subcontractors and vendors against project schedules and quality requirements
  • Monitoring budgets and costs, identifying issues and implementing cost-saving measures
  • Leading on-site teams across various sites, with some travel from time to time

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A trade background with the ability to coordinate and manage the construction process
  • A genuine willingness to stay on the tools and help out where needed β€” not for someone looking to get off the tools
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams
  • A commitment to honesty, accountability, and pride in your work
  • Local to Toowoomba, with the flexibility to work across various sites (candidates must live locally)

What's in it for You?

  • Fuel Costs Covered β€” one less running cost on the job
  • $120,000+ Package β€” negotiable based on your capability
  • Close-Knit Team β€” a genuinely supportive crew based in Toowoomba
  • Outcomes Over Hours β€” a business that values your life outside work
  • Long-Term Security β€” the right tools and a commitment to your future
