Senior Software Engineer - Python / Travel Technology

An Australian travel technology startup is building AI-powered booking tools that make travel planning faster, smarter and more personalised.
They’ve secured seed funding and are targeting a Series A in the next six months.
This role exists to strengthen the core engineering team as the platform scales, with real ownership over how the product is built.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and owning backend services in Python that power the booking experience
- Shipping features across the stack, with React on the frontend
- Integrating with travel supplier and partner systems so bookings work reliably
- Shaping engineering standards and architecture as the team grows
- Keeping delivery moving through a simple, no-fuss CI/CD process
Must have
- Strong commercial experience building Python backends
- Experience with React
- Background in corporate travel technology or booking/reservation platforms
- Experience designing and integrating APIs
- Comfortable owning work end to end in a small team
