About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to join our Adelaide Head Office and lead the financial operations of Gauvin Group.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a key leadership role responsible for delivering financial excellence, strong governance and high-quality finance services across our businesses.

You will lead a multidisciplinary finance team encompassing financial accounting and reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and finance business partnering.

Importantly, you will play a pivotal role in the continued development of our Group Finance shared-services model, strengthening financial processes, systems and capabilities while ensuring our businesses receive responsive, commercially focused finance support.

This is an exciting opportunity for a capable finance leader who enjoys balancing operational excellence with strategic thinking, leading people and driving meaningful business improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Group Finance team, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee financial accounting, consolidated reporting, month-end and year-end processes, statutory compliance and external audits.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, treasury and working capital management.
  • Strengthen financial governance, internal controls and reporting frameworks across the Group.
  • Partner with the CFO, Managing Directors and Business Unit Leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and commercial advice.
  • Drive the development and optimisation of our Group Finance shared-services operating model.
  • Champion finance transformation, process improvements, automation and financial systems optimisation, including NetSuite.
  • Build strong relationships across our businesses, ensuring Finance is a trusted and valued commercial partner.

About You

You are an accomplished finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial judgement, engaging people leadership and a genuine passion for improving business performance.

You will bring:

  • CA or CPA qualification, supported by tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
  • Significant experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or equivalent senior finance leader.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing multidisciplinary finance teams.
  • Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, taxation and compliance expertise.
  • Experience working across multiple business units, entities or divisions.
  • Sound commercial acumen, with the ability to turn financial information into actionable business insights.
  • Experience in shared-services environments, finance transformation and process improvement.
  • Strong ERP systems capability, ideally including NetSuite or a comparable platform.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

Experience within FMCG, wholesale distribution, consumer products or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded, as will experience in a privately owned or family-owned business.

Above all, you are a collaborative and approachable leader who builds trust, develops people and brings both structure and commercial pragmatism to the Finance function.

Why Join Gauvin Group?

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact within an established and evolving Australian-owned business group.

You will enjoy:

  • Leadership and influence: Work closely with the CFO and senior business leaders across two distinctive haircare businesses.
  • Meaningful impact: Shape the future of our Group Finance function and drive improvements that support business performance.
  • People leadership: Build capability, develop talent and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Variety and challenge: Enjoy a broad leadership role spanning financial operations, commercial partnering, governance and transformation.
