Due to continued growth, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Yardsman / Reo Machine Operator to join our Yeppoon branch on a full-time basis. About the Role
As a Yardsman / Reo Machine Operator at Greensteel, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the yard, warehouse and reo processing area. You’ll make sure steel products are processed, handled, stored and dispatched safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role involving operating reo cutting and bending machinery, forklift operation, loading and unloading trucks, order picking, and keeping the yard clean and organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut and bend reinforcing bar to schedule using shears and benders
- Process and handle mesh, bar and other reo products
- Load and unload steel products safely and efficiently
- Pick, prepare and check customer orders for dispatch
- Operate forklifts and yard equipment safely
- Assist with receiving, checking and storing stock
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised yard and warehouse
- Conduct basic equipment and machine checks and report faults or hazards
- Assist customers and drivers in the yard as required
- Work with team members to meet daily operational targets
What We’re Looking For
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Safety-focused with attention to detail
- Able to read reo schedules and measure accurately, or keen to learn
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
Required Qualifications
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
- Experience in reo processing, warehousing, steel, manufacturing or construction preferred but not essential, as full training on reo machinery will be provided
- HR licence and/or dogging ticket highly regarded
