Greenslopes Private Hospital is seeking a proactive and organised Catering Quality, Training and Compliance Coordinator to support the delivery of safe, high-quality and compliant catering services for our patients, staff and visitors. This is a permanent full-time position that requires flexibility to work across morning, afternoon and evening shifts. Occasional weekend work is also a requirement of this role.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong attention to detail with a practical, hands‑on approach to quality assurance, team development and continuous improvement. Working closely with catering leadership and operational teams, you will help maintain high standards across food safety, hygiene, training, documentation and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will help ensure catering operations meet hospital requirements, food safety standards and established quality procedures. You will work collaboratively with kitchen and food services teams to build capability, strengthen compliance and promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Quality assurance and food safety: Monitor food safety practices, hygiene standards, temperature controls, food handling, storage, allergen management and sanitation procedures.
  • Compliance and auditing: Conduct routine inspections, internal audits and compliance checks, identifying risks and supporting timely corrective actions.
  • Training and development: Coordinate and deliver staff training, inductions, refresher sessions and competency assessments relevant to catering operations.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate training records, audit results, food safety documentation, procedures and compliance registers.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce risks and strengthen consistency across catering services.
  • Team support: Work alongside catering managers, chefs and food services staff to reinforce safe work practices and quality expectations.
  • Patient-focused service: Support catering practices that contribute to safe, hygienic and appropriate food services for patients, including consideration of dietary requirements and allergen risks.
  • Incident management: Assist with investigating food safety and quality incidents, documenting findings and monitoring corrective and preventative actions.

About you

You are a confident communicator who enjoys working with people, improving processes and maintaining high standards in a busy operational environment. You will ideally bring:

  • Experience in food safety, quality assurance, compliance, training or catering operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety principles, hygiene requirements and safe food handling practices.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, training sessions or competency assessments.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • The ability to identify non-compliance, assess risks and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and support a diverse team.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with operational teams and management.
  • Qualifications or training in food safety, quality management, auditing, training and assessment, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in healthcare catering, hospital food services or another highly regulated food environment would be advantageous.
  • Availability to work across mornings, afternoons, nights and occasional weekends is essential.
