We're looking for an experienced Turf Maintenance Technician to join our Sports Turf team, working across high-profile sporting venues including Tramway Oval, Kippax Lake Fields and Heffron Park. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced greenkeepers and turf professionals, helping maintain elite playing surfaces used by AFL, NRL and Rugby teams, while developing your skills within a supportive and knowledgeable team.
About The Role
As a Turf Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining high-quality sports turf surfaces that meet the demands of elite training, competition and community use. Working as part of a specialised sports turf team, you'll contribute to the presentation, performance and health of some of Sydney's most recognised sporting venues.
What You'll Be Doing
- Performing regular turf maintenance including mowing, aerating, line marking, topdressing and fertiliser applications
- Monitoring turf health and proactively managing pests, diseases, weeds and compaction issues
- Assisting with seasonal renovation and turf recovery programs
- Implementing sustainable turf management and water conservation practices
- Operating and maintaining specialised turf equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
- Supporting irrigation management and turf performance initiatives
- Collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple sporting venues
- Maintaining safe work practices and ensuring sites are presented to the highest standard
About You
You're passionate about sports turf and take pride in producing high-quality playing surfaces. You enjoy working outdoors, thrive in a team environment and are eager to continue building your technical knowledge.
You'll Ideally Bring
- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management
- Recent experience in sports turf maintenance, greenkeeping or turf management
- Strong knowledge of turf species, turf health and maintenance practices
- Experience operating turf machinery including mowers, aerators and sprayers
- Current driver's licence
- White Card
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
- Experience maintaining elite sporting fields
- Exposure to irrigation systems and water management
- Experience with sports field renovations and recovery programs
