Key responsibilities
- Preparing patients for surgery and providing appropriate pre-operative care
- Providing safe and effective anaesthetic monitoring
- Managing patient recovery and post-operative care
- Closely monitoring patients and recognising changes in their condition
- Maintaining high standards of surgical asepsis and infection control
- Cleaning, preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment
- Preparing surgical theatres and supporting efficient theatre workflow
- Providing compassionate and professional patient care
- Working collaboratively with veterinarians and the wider nursing team
About you
- Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or higher
- Small animal veterinary nursing experience, preferably with advanced surgical experience
- Confident and competent in surgical nursing and anaesthesia
- Genuine passion for patient care and animal welfare
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Can remain calm and effective in a busy hospital environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Motivated to learn and develop clinical skills
- Reliable and enthusiastic
