About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Operations Assistant to join our transport operations team. This is an entry-level position for someone who is interested in learning and passionate about transport.
You will play a key role in supporting our dispatch function, working closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team to ensure the smooth coordination of jobs, trailers, and fleet movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily management
- Communicate with drivers regarding job allocations and operational requirements
- Allocate jobs, trailers, and equipment as directed, trailer checks
- Monitor truck movements and provide operational support throughout the day
- Liaise with customers regarding deliveries and collections
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure efficient fleet utilisation
- Assist with resolving day-to-day operational issues
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and administration skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Forklift licence and some exposure to heavy vehicles an advantage
