Join Our Academy Dining Team! We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team at a busy academy school dining program. The ideal candidate will have professional cooking experience, a culinary background, and a passion for preparing fresh, nutritious, and high-quality meals for students, athletes, staff, and guests.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special event meals
- Follow standardized recipes while maintaining quality, flavor, and presentation
- Prepare large-volume meals for students and student-athletes
- Assist with menu preparation, food production, and daily kitchen operations
- Maintain proper portion control and minimize food waste
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with catering, athletic events, and special functions
- Work closely with other cooks and dining staff to ensure timely meal service
Qualifications
- Previous professional cooking experience required
- Culinary education, culinary degree, or professional culinary training preferred
- Experience with high-volume food production is a plus
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced school dining environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented
- ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain
