THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, the Event Manager leads the planning and delivery of major events across the EMQ portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of assigned events from commencement through to post-event evaluation.
Manage event operations including site builds, logistics, traffic and pedestrian management, supplier coordination and event-day delivery.
Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring expenditure aligns with approved financial parameters.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with local government authorities, contractors, sponsors, emergency services and key stakeholders.
Develop event management plans, operational schedules, run sheets and risk management documentation.
Support the implementation of Work Health and Safety requirements and event compliance obligations.
Assist with the recruitment, training and management of event staff, volunteers and contractors.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance event delivery, operational efficiency and participant experience.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in event management, event operations, project management or a similar role.
Qualifications in Event Management, Sport Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale events, sporting events or tourism-related activations.
Strong experience managing event budgets, suppliers and operational logistics.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Current Queensland Driver Licence.
Experience within the sport, tourism or major events industry will be highly regarded.
