The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dealership Accountant to join our team at our Burleigh Heads dealership.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, detail-oriented finance professional to take ownership of the dealership's day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
Working closely with our management team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing dealership transactions and providing valuable financial insights to support business decisions.
The ideal candidate will have previous accounting experience within a motor vehicle, caravans, marine or similar dealership environment, with a strong understanding of dealership financial processes and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:

Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash flow forecasts.

Payroll & Compliance: Manage payroll processing, superannuation, BAS and other statutory reporting obligations.

Dealership Transactions: Accurately process boat, motor and trailer sales, customer deposits, supplier invoices and associated financial transactions.

Stock & Inventory Control: Monitor inventory valuations, stock reconciliations, floorplan finance and associated dealership costs.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, supplier payments and outstanding customer accounts to support efficient business operations.

Financial Analysis: Work alongside dealership management to identify opportunities for improved financial performance and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Relationships: Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions and suppliers as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings a proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the confidence to manage the financial responsibilities of a busy dealership.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Previous experience in a dealership accounting or similar financial management role.

Experience within the automotive, marine, caravan or machinery dealership industry (highly regarded).

Experience using Ultimate Business Systems Eclipse DMS (highly advantageous), or familiarity with other dealership management systems.

Strong accounting knowledge, including financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll and taxation compliance.

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

A high level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management and other departments.

The confidence to work autonomously, take initiative and identify opportunities for improvement.
Relevant accounting qualifications will be highly regarded.
