Go Sushi X Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified Cook to join our busy Japanese restaurant based in Darwin NT.
Location: Darwin NT 0800
Job type: Full-time
Salary: $67,510 – $79,500 per year + superannuation
Duties and responsibilities:
- A preferred understanding of Japanese food, but this can be taught to the right candidate
- Carefully follow standard recipes while preparing assigned items for food service
- Cook all dishes as specified on the menu, including seasoning and portion control
- Plate and garnish food items before table service
- Following service, replenish the section by prepping for the next service
- Support senior kitchen staff (Sous or Head Chef) with ordering from suppliers, accepting and checking deliveries, checking prep and training new staff
- Follow safe and sanitary food handling practices according to local health and state laws
- Maintain a clean, positive and professional environment with co-workers and customers
Skills and experience required:
- Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience as a Cook
- Ability to work weekdays and Saturdays, including shift work
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply
