The Company Join this established Construction business, specialising in Insurance Repair and Strata work. Boasting long established relationships with Australia's major Insurance Companies and Loss Assessors. Due to strong demand, my client requires an Estimator to join their highly successful team in Brisbane. An opportunity is now available to join the team in the role of Estimator. In this role you will attend sites and assess damage, estimate repair costs and provide comprehensive scopes of works to allow for accurate repairs.
Responsibilities
- Write building insurance assessment reports
- Engage, coordinate & manage trades during the restoration process for buildings damaged by insurable events
- Communicate & negotiate with trades to track the progress of jobs
- Liaise between both insurance companies & insured parties
- Coordinate access to properties with insured parties
- Dispute/issue resolution as required
- Ensure all work conforms to legislative & contractual OH&S requirements
- Ensure all inspections, certificates of final inspection from Building Surveyor & relevant documentation is signed off
Candidate Requirements
- Min 3 years' experience in an estimating role
- Experience within insurance building is highly desirable but not essential
- Trade certificates in building (carpentry preferred) or a related discipline
- Excellent organisational & time management skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- A proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with OHS practices, legislation & regulations
- Familiarity with current market rates & trades.
- The ability to provide quality estimates without need for outside quotes
- Current and valid motor vehicle license
