Our client is a fast-growing Australian industrial manufacturing and engineering business with a busy workshop, an expanding product range and a leadership team investing in its next stage of growth. The business has outgrown its current finance setup, and they need someone to take ownership and build the platform for scale.

This isn't a back-office role. You'll be the link between the numbers and the operation, working side by side with the CEO, the Operations & Procurement lead and the Group CFO, who is personally invested in your growth.

The Opportunity:

  • Day-to-day finance: AP, AR, payroll, credit cards and reconciliations
  • Getting BOMs and cost of goods right across Katana, the ERP and Xero so every product and job shows its true margin
  • Building and running a formal month-end and stocktake cycle
  • Accurate inventory and working capital reporting for the board
  • Working with procurement, operations and the warehouse on data and processes
  • Bringing in smarter systems, automation and AI so finance grows with the business
  • Reporting, budgeting and forecasting as the role develops

The Specialist:

  • The experienced operator: You've run finance in an SME, ideally manufacturing, distribution or engineering. You know inventory, COGS and month-end inside out, and you're ready to own the function and shape how it scales.
  • The rising talent: You have a strong accounting foundation and a real hunger to grow. You want direct mentoring from a Chartered Accountant, a pathway to qualification and a clear route into a senior role.
  • A real accounting brain and excellent attention to detail
  • Hands-on Xero experience (Katana, MRP or inventory systems a big plus)
  • A team-first attitude and genuine curiosity about how a business runs
  • The drive to grow with a business that's going places
  • Direct CA mentoring from an experienced Group CFO
  • Real ownership of systems and processes from the ground up
  • Visibility with leadership, where your work drives real decisions
  • A role built to grow into a senior finance position as the business scales

If you're ready to make your mark, we want to hear from you. All applications are treated in strict confidence.
