Seasonal Store Assistant in Melbourne

We are seeking a Retail Sales Assistant to join our team specialising in fireplaces, bathrooms, furniture, hardware, and lighting. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers in product selection, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about home improvement and design, contributing to a positive shopping experience and driving sales growth.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in product selection.
• Provide detailed information about products and services to enhance customer understanding.
• Maintain a clean and organised store environment, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and improve store performance.
• Stay updated on product knowledge and industry trends to better assist customers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in retail or business is a plus.
• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions.
• Passion for home improvement and design is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

• Providing exceptional customer service where you and your customer will have memorable, meaningful interactions.
• Through the knowledge you gain, you will inspire and educate customers on the best care and products for their pets.
• Complete memorable sales transactions, aiming to reach set store sales goals.
• Work with your team mates to make sure the store looks its best at all times, ensuring all the latest stock is on the shelves.
• Be proactive in making sure you keep your knowledge up to date on pet care, products, and services we provide.
• Contribute to a fun, supportive culture instore where the team loves coming to work every day.
• Strong safety mindset with commitment to create a culture of safety within your team.

What we need:

• A passion for animals and providing the best customer service.
• Experience in a similar retail environment.
• Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and rapport with customers and your team-mates.
• Physically fit, with ability to lift products up to 20kgs.
• Flexibility and ability to work weekends and public holidays.
