Lawyer in Perth

Perth Full-Time On-site
G

A legal role that fits around your life, without putting your career on pause.

We are looking for a part time Lawyer (1-5 years post admission) to join our Perth team, working across workers compensation matters with Ellie McGrory.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants the flexibility of part-time work while still being involved in meaningful matters and developing their expertise.

You will be working with a leader who appreciates and understands the practical realities of balancing part-time work with other commitments.

You will have mentoring, guidance and support in your role from day one.

There is flexibility in the role: if you would like to increase your work hours over time, we will work with you to do so. Equally, we will support you if you prefer to remain part time.

Why this role is different and what we offer

At Gilchrist Connell, we believe that access to exceptional work and a fulfilling personal life go hand in hand.

We know flexibility means different things to different people. Whether you are balancing family, study, other commitments or simply looking for a better work-life balance, we are open to discussing a part-time arrangement that genuinely works for you and the team.

You’ll also have:

  • Small firm feel, big firm benefits: you will have the benefits of a growing national firm, without feeling like just another number.
  • Direct access to senior lawyers who are approachable, experienced and invested in your development.
  • Hands-on exposure to interesting workers compensation matters.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of your work while having support when you need it.
  • A collaborative team where you can ask questions and learn without unnecessary hierarchy.
  • A competitive salary and incentives linked to personal performance.
  • Excellent Group Salary Continuance (GSC) at the firm’s cost.

About You

  • Experience in workers compensation or insurance litigation required.
  • Practical, client-focused problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach, openness to feedback and genuine desire to keep developing.
  • Clear, concise legal writing skills.
