About the Opportunity
Our client is one of Melbourne's largest public health services, with a complex, multi-site workforce supporting hospital, community and mental health services. They are looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to partner with directorate leadership teams and help bring their people strategy to life. If you love building genuine trust with leaders, turning strategy into practical solutions and seeing the difference good people practice makes, this is the role for you.
The package includes a competitive base salary, superannuation and generous salary packaging benefits. Flexible working is genuinely supported, with a mix of working from home and time on site with your stakeholders and team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director People & Culture Business Partnering, you'll be the trusted advisor to your directorate leadership teams. You'll guide them on everything people and culture, and help them deliver the organisation's P&C Roadmap.
This is a true business partnering role. Rather than responding to issues one by one, you'll get to know your directorates, use data to spot trends early, and work with specialist teams across Organisational Development, Work Health and Safety and Recovery at Work to solve problems together.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building strong partnerships with directorate leaders and key stakeholders, and developing P&C stakeholder plans for each directorate
- Providing guidance and coaching on remuneration, leave management, performance, change, talent and succession planning
- Advising on employee relations matters and emerging trends, and contributing to constructive relationships with unions and professional bodies
- Leading projects that support directorate people plans, including driving the success of employee engagement surveys
- Using workforce data and metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Supporting the rollout of P&C strategic projects, policies and programs across the organisation
About You
You're an experienced HR Business Partner who is equally comfortable coaching a senior leader through a tricky people decision and stepping back to see the bigger picture across a directorate. You bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
- A proven track record of delivering P&C solutions in a large, complex organisation
- Strong generalist knowledge across performance, remuneration, change, talent and succession
- A working knowledge of industrial instruments and enterprise agreements, and confidence working in a unionised environment
- The ability to build strong relationships with senior management and cross-functional partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with demonstrated negotiation skills
- A data-informed approach to advice and decision-making
- High self-awareness and emotional intelligence, with integrity in everything you do
- An innovative, solution-focused mindset, and the flexibility to adapt as priorities shift
Culture fit matters here. You'll be joining a collaborative team that values trust, partnership and doing the work properly.
About the Company
People are at the heart of how this organisation operates. With a refreshed people strategy and a clear P&C Roadmap guiding the work ahead, this is an exciting moment to join. You'll be part of a function with real visibility and genuine momentum.
Good hires start with good humans.
