Currently we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Accountant/Analyst to join the gforce team based at our new Geelong Head Office. This role will play a pivotal part of the month-end reporting, reconciliations, cashflow, compliance and financial analysis for the Executive Leadership Team and business managers in a multi-entity environment.
About the Role
Working with gforce’s merger partner, MEGT Australia and their Finance team, and partnering with payroll, operations and senior stakeholders, you will analyse monthly financial results and prepare statements in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
You will manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, including monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting. You’ll assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights for business and financial planning, providing meaningful insights into business performance.
You’ll identify control gaps, accounting risks and opportunities to strengthen financial governance and help improve financial processes across our business, ensuring strong financial controls and compliance across finance processes.
About the Successful Candidate
You’ll possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting. Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA or CA) is essential. Experience in the not-for-profit sector is advantageous.
You must have strong knowledge of AASB and tax regulations, paired with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn financial information into meaningful business insights.
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across accounting and ERP systems, with experience with Oracle NetSuite and IMB Cognos Analytics highly advantageous.
You will have strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, and sound communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to mentor both direct reports and others across the business.
