Geosurv is a growing Australian business delivering surveying, geospatial and utility services across major infrastructure, construction and development projects. With approximately 100 employees across our Geospatial and Utilities divisions, we are entering an exciting period of growth, with plans to increase our workforce by approximately 30% over the next six months. As part of this growth, we are investing in our People & Culture function and are looking for an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join our team.

About the Role

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, this is a hands-on generalist role supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle across Geosurv. You will take ownership of day-to-day P&C activities, provide practical advice to managers and employees and help ensure our people processes remain effective as the business continues to grow. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, takes initiative and enjoys balancing employee relations, performance management, recruitment support, HR systems and general people operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Provide advice and support on employee matters, performance concerns, disciplinary processes and workplace issues.
  • Performance Management: Coordinate probation reviews, performance discussions, development plans and associated documentation.
  • Employee Lifecycle: Oversee onboarding, inductions, employment changes, offboarding and employee documentation.
  • HR Systems & Administration: Maintain accurate employee records, support HRIS improvements and ensure effective P&C processes.
  • Recruitment Support: Work alongside the Talent Acquisition team to coordinate employment offers, pre-employment requirements and new-starter readiness.
  • Compliance & Policies: Support compliance with employment legislation, company policies and internal procedures.
  • Visa & Sponsorship Coordination: Assist with employment-related visa documentation and liaise with external migration specialists.
  • Employee Engagement: Coordinate employee initiatives, company events, recognition programs and internal communications.
  • Manager Support: Act as a first point of contact for general P&C queries, providing timely and practical advice.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and the overall employee experience as the business grows.

About You

We are looking for an intelligent, ambitious and driven individual with strong values, a genuine hunger to succeed and a willingness to work hard. Experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role, with the confidence to take ownership of P&C matters. Experience working in the construction, energy, infrastructure or building sector. Honest, trustworthy and accountable, with strong integrity and sound judgement. Ambitious, motivated and eager to learn, develop and progress their career. A proactive self-starter who takes initiative, solves problems and gets things done. Strong emotional intelligence with the confidence to build relationships and engage with people at all levels. A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Commercially minded, highly organised and an effective communicator. Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities or another operationally focused business would be highly advantageous.

Why Join Geosurv?

  • Direct Exposure to Leadership: Work closely with the People & Culture Manager and Managing Director, with genuine exposure to business decisions, operational challenges and strategic initiatives.
  • A High-Performing Business: Join an ambitious, fast-paced business with high standards, strong leadership and a clear vision for growth.
  • A Great Team Culture: Be part of a close-knit, supportive team that values hard work, accountability, having a laugh and celebrating success.
  • Real Influence: You will be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and make a genuine difference across the business.
  • Accelerated Career Growth: Gain exposure well beyond a traditional HR Advisor role, with a genuine opportunity to develop into a P&C Business partner position.
  • An Exciting Time to Join: With plans to grow our workforce by +30% in six months, you will be joining at a pivotal time and helping shape what the business becomes next.
