About the Role
Midford is looking for a talented and motivated Garment Technician to join our creative and dedicated team. We are seeking an energetic, efficient, team orientated individual to provide creative solutions for a diverse range of projects. Working closely with Product Developers, Graphic Designers, Suppliers and Account Managers you must have strong attention to detail and be an effective communicator.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Measure, inspect, and log incoming proto samples, Salesman samples and Pre Production samples.
- Assist with fit sessions, record precise notes from product developers and update technical specifications.
- Maintain and update measurement charts and mandatory manufacturing details of products.
- Maintain communication with vendors in construction, measurements, fit and quality notes for offshore manufacturing and in-house manufacturing.
- Assist with returns analysis and check garment workmanship against Midford standards.
- Assist the team in all aspects of product development when required and any other duties as required within the business.
- QC and Technical Design aspects to ensure Midford products meet appropriate quality requirements and customers' expectations.
- Customer returns documented and appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
Skills and experience:
- 1 – 2 years in apparel production, quality assurance or technical assistant experience (preferred).
- Basic understanding of garment construction, grading and fabrics is essential.
- Knowledge in pattern making and grading in outerwear for both children and adults is an advantage.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to work unsupervised.
