Garden City Dental Practice Toowoomba is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an immediate start opportunity based in Toowoomba, QLD. As a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and will work alongside our dental professionals to provide a welcoming, efficient, and professional service.
Key responsibilities:
- Greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling and maintaining accurate patient records
- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures by preparing treatment areas and sterilising instruments
- Taking and processing patient payments and handling billing enquiries
- Answering telephone calls and managing patient communications professionally
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all relevant healthcare regulations and data protection standards
- Preparing dental materials and equipment for procedures
- Managing the reception area to ensure it remains clean, organised and welcoming
- Assisting with administrative duties including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
- Supporting the practice team to ensure quality patient care and positive patient experiences
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working as a dental assistant or in a similar clinical support role is preferred
- Experience in a reception or administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, team members and external contacts
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy when handling patient records and appointments
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation protocols
- A friendly, patient-focused attitude and genuine interest in providing excellent customer service
