Fyfe is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer in our Infrastructure Team based in Melbourne to provide concept design through to detailed design, procurement support, construction assistance and commissioning support. Key responsibilities
- Prepare and check electrical and control system deliverables including single line diagrams, network architecture drawings, I/O schedules, cable schedules, loop drawings, termination drawings, panel layouts, datasheets and bills of material.
- Support LV design activities including cable sizing, cable containment sizing, reticulation diagrams, generator sizing and electrical load inputs.
- Use engineering design tools such as Elecdes where required to produce consistent drawings and schedules.
- Prepare clear technical inputs for design reports, specifications and design review packs.
- Develop instrumentation and control design packages for water, wastewater, mining and industrial facilities.
- Coordinate controls requirements with process, mechanical and operations stakeholders.
- Support or prepare engineering studies such as arc flash, EMI and EMF assessments where assigned.
- Contribute to Safety in Design reviews, HAZOP, CHAZOP, constructability reviews and close-out of discipline actions.
- Identify design risks early and communicate clear mitigation actions.
- Deliver assigned work packages to agreed scope, schedule and budget.
About you
- Proven experience in Medium Voltage/Low Voltage electrical design.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards.
- Demonstrated experience in I&C design.
- Confidence contributing across all project phases, from concept and schematic design through to detailed delivery.
- Experience in working on complex infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
- Collaborative approach and clear communication style when working with engineers, clients and consultants.
