  • Lead the people agenda of this leading independent co-educational College
  • Shape workforce strategy, culture and capability through a key growth phase
  • Join a values-led executive team across a thriving multi-campus College

The Position

Beaconhills College seeks to appoint an accomplished and contemporary Head of People and Culture to lead its people agenda as the College continues to grow. Building on a well-established and highly regarded function, the role offers the opportunity to sharpen workforce strategy, deepen insight and shape the culture and capability required for Beaconhills to continue to attract, develop and retain exceptional staff and deliver outstanding outcomes for its students.

Reporting to the Executive Principal and serving on the College Executive Team, the Head of People and Culture will lead the development and delivery of the College’s People and Culture Strategy. The portfolio spans workforce planning, recruitment, succession and talent; employee and industrial relations; culture and performance; and payroll, governance and risk. Leading an established team and working closely with executive colleagues, the appointee will connect strategic workforce priorities with effective day-to-day delivery. Industrial relations and Enterprise Agreement negotiations will be an important early focus, alongside building workforce capability and strengthening the systems, data and practices that underpin the College’s long-term sustainability.

The successful candidate will be an experienced People and Culture leader who combines strategic capability with strong operational and technical credibility. With demonstrated expertise across workforce strategy, organisational development and employee and industrial relations, the appointee will bring the judgement and composure to navigate complex people matters and influence senior stakeholders. Beaconhills is seeking a clear and pragmatic thinker who can turn well-considered ideas into action while remaining warm, approachable and genuinely connected to people. Strong emotional intelligence, executive presence and the ability to build high-performing teams will be essential. School-sector experience is desirable but not essential, with candidates from other complex, people-intensive environments welcomed where experience is transferable and there is strong alignment with the College’s values of Respect, Compassion and Integrity.

The Organisation

Beaconhills College is a large, independent, co-educational Christian College operating across two campuses in Melbourne’s south-east and serving more than 3,000 students. The College occupies a distinctive position within its growing communities, combining an accessible education model with a strong commitment to personalised, holistic learning and deep community connection. Its values of Respect, Compassion and Integrity underpin the way the College approaches learning, leadership and relationships.
