Assistant Store Manager

Universal Store is looking for a driven and inspiring retail leader to step into a Full-Time Assistant Store Manager role. This position works closely with the Store Manager and mirrors many Store Manager responsibilities, making it the perfect step if you’re looking to grow your retail leadership career. The successful candidate will work a Sunday-Thursday roster.

Responsibilities:

• Lead store operations and team performance.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences every day.
• Support and coach team to achieve sales targets.
• Execute VM and promotional directives.
• Assist with inventory management and stock insights.
• Lead by example and uphold Universal Store culture.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous leadership experience in retail (Shift Supervisor / Assistant Store Manager).
• Strong sales focus with ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Warm, confident communicator with excellent customer service skills.
• Strong operational understanding — VM, stock, store standards.
• Flexible, hands‑on, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to brand presentation.

On your first day we’d expect you to already have:

• 2+ years experience in retail fashion (retail leadership experience highly regarded, but not required).
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service and experiential retail.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and business management skills.
• A dynamic and hands‑on leader who loves motivating and coaching a team to succeed whilst leading by example.
• Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, and the ability to influence team members at all levels.
• A passion for the DISSH brand, vision + mission and ability to embed this within a team.
