Are you an experienced administrator looking for a long-term, stable role with a genuinely lovely team? We are recruiting for a family-owned business based on Sydney's Northern Beaches that has built a fantastic reputation over many years. This is a warm, down-to-earth workplace where people know each other, work well together and genuinely enjoy coming to work. The current receptionist is retiring after nearly 10 years with the business, so this is a great opportunity for someone looking to step into a role where they can build a long-term career and become an important part of the team.
About the role: This is a varied administration and reception position where you'll be involved in keeping the day-to-day office running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Answering and directing incoming phone calls
- Invoicing and general accounts administration
- Processing customer orders for Sydney and Victorian warehouses
- Raising and managing supplier purchase orders
- Assisting with audits and general administration
- Working closely with the external bookkeeper
- Reception and front-of-office duties
- General office support as required
It's a steady and manageable role with plenty of variety. You won't be expected to be flat out every minute of the day, but we are looking for someone who is happy to take ownership of their responsibilities and make sure things are done properly.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Mature, reliable and hardworking
- Highly organised and enjoys keeping things in order
- Comfortable managing a variety of administrative tasks
- Confident dealing with customers, suppliers and internal staff
- Naturally proactive and happy to get on with things independently
- Friendly, professional and down-to-earth
- Looking for a long-term position, rather than something temporary
You don't need to be a corporate superstar for this role. We're much more interested in finding someone who is dependable, practical, organised and genuinely takes pride in their work.
The benefits:
- Permanent part-time position
- School hours can be accommodated - currently around 9.00am-3.00pm
- Northern Beaches location
- Family-owned and operated business
- Wonderful team and genuinely positive culture
- Stable, long-term opportunity
- Excellent handover and training from the current receptionist
- $35-$40 per hour + super, depending on experience
The handover: The current receptionist will be finishing at the end of the year after almost 10 years with the business. Ideally, we'd love someone to start in December, with the opportunity to spend some time alongside the current receptionist before she finishes. All training hours will be paid, giving you the chance to properly learn the role and ensure a smooth transition.
If you're looking for a permanent part-time role with good people, a great culture and hours that can work around your family, we'd love to hear from you.
