You’ll be joining a globally established specialty insurance business with operations across Australia, the UK, Europe, Bermuda and the Lloyd’s market. While the organisation has significant international scale, the Australian operation retains a high degree of autonomy, with underwriting authority and decision‑making kept close to the local market. The Northern Region is entering an exciting period of growth, with plans to further establish a Brisbane presence. You’ll work closely with an experienced regional leader who values autonomy, trusts people to deliver and has a strong focus on building a supportive, collaborative team culture. What will you be doing?
- Build and manage a profitable Financial Lines portfolio across Brisbane and the Northern Region
- Underwrite new business and renewals across ML, D&O and PI
- Develop and leverage strong relationships with Brisbane and national brokers
- Proactively identify opportunities and generate new business
- Work closely with Sydney and international underwriting teams and support functions
- Help establish the Brisbane operation, with scope to build a local team over time
What do you need?
- Strong experience underwriting Financial Lines, ideally across ML, D&O and PI
- An established network of Brisbane insurance brokers and industry relationships
- A proven ability to generate, negotiate and win new business
- Strong technical underwriting skills and commercial judgement
- A self‑starter who thrives with autonomy and enjoys building something new
