FTA Insurance is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Financial Lines Underwriter or Broker to join our team in our Melbourne office. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining relationships with brokers, underwriting your own portfolio, assisting other underwriters in the team with their underwriting and providing exceptional service to our brokers.
What you'll be doing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing brokers and develop new brokers
- Underwrite a portfolio of financial lines insurance products, including Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber liability, and combined Prof Ind/GL.
- Stay up-to-date with market conditions
- Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and process
- Mentor and train more junior underwriters
What we're looking for
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship buidling ability
- 2+ years' experience as a financial lines underwriter or broker in general insurance
- Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must have current Australian work authorisation rights
