Front Foot | Melbourne / regional arrangements considered | Full-time
We're partnering with Marshall Dent Wilmoth (MDW), an established Victorian law firm, to appoint an experienced personal injuries and insurance lawyer as a Partner. This is an opportunity to take on a leadership role in an existing practice, support its team and shape its next stage of growth.
- A varied practice spanning plaintiff claims, defendant work and insurance disputes.
- Meaningful existing work and established client and referral relationships.
- A leadership opportunity for an experienced partner or senior lawyer ready for the next step.
About you
You are an experienced personal injuries and/or insurance lawyer with strong technical skills, sound judgement and a genuine interest in leading people. You may be a partner, special counsel or senior lawyer ready for the next step. Accredited specialist status would be valuable, but is not mandatory.
Your strengths may lie in plaintiff, defendant or insurance work. The important combination is relevant depth, excellent client care and the ability to lead and develop the broader practice. Relevant experience includes:
- Plaintiff personal injury claims, including motor vehicle accidents, public liability, workplace injury and medical negligence.
- Defendant personal injury matters, including sensitive institutional abuse claims.
- Insurance coverage and indemnity disputes for corporate and individual insured clients, and insurance reviews and advice.
- Mentoring colleagues, managing complex matters and developing client and referral relationships.
About Marshall Dent Wilmoth
MDW has an established personal injuries and insurance practice supported by lawyers and experienced support staff. It is seeking a hands-on leader who can strengthen its capability, maintain trusted client relationships and generate new work.
Why consider this opportunity?

- Salaried partnership is available without a portable practice.
- Equity partnership may be considered if you bring a portable practice, subject to agreed terms.
- MDW is open to an individual appointment or a team joining together, with arrangements discussed case by case.
- An existing practice and cross-firm referrals provide a foundation for future growth.
- A hands-on leadership role with scope to develop people and influence the practice's direction.
