About the role
We are seeking a talented Cook or Chef to join our kitchen team at our Newington NSW location. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. You will play a vital role in preparing high-quality dishes that delight our guests, whilst maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and presentation. This position is integral to delivering the culinary excellence that defines Fresh neo pty ltd.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and agreed standards
- Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
- Ensuring consistent quality, portion control and presentation of all dishes
- Managing station workflows efficiently during service periods
- Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service
- Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with inventory management
- Following all workplace health and safety guidelines and procedures
- Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen culture
- Adapting to changing menu requirements and special dietary requests
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience working as a Cook or Chef in a professional kitchen environment and understanding Asian culture cuisine
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and culinary practices
- Strong commitment to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and handling large volume food as catering
- Good communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively in a kitchen team
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development in the culinary field
