Foxhound Talent is working with one of Australia’s most established builders to find Foremen for their Brisbane team. This role gives you a mix of both. On smaller projects you’ll own the job yourself, from establishment through to handover. On larger projects of up to $200m, you’ll be part of the site team delivering some of Brisbane’s most defining builds, working alongside two or three other Foremen under the site manager. Projects are fully resourced, so you’re not stretched across too many jobs or left to carry the load on your own. That means a better work-life balance for you, and more time to do the job properly.
The team is led by an experienced construction manager who has a strong reputation for developing his people, and there is a real progression pathway into site management for Foremen who want to step up. The team operates with a lot of autonomy within the wider business, so decisions are made quickly and close to the work, with the systems, support and stability of a large builder behind it.
This is a commercial building role, not civil or heavy infrastructure. The team has a secure pipeline for the next two years, and its current and upcoming work includes:
- Healthcare: new works and refurbishments within operating hospitals
- Aviation: building works within a live airport environment
- Data centres: purpose-built facilities housing critical systems
- Government funded residential: multi-storey apartment buildings
- Refurbishment: upgrades to existing and occupied buildings
The variety means you’ll keep building your experience across different types of projects, rather than spending years on one.
The role:
- Run smaller projects from establishment through to handover
- Supervise subcontractors and site activities to program, quality and safety standards
- Coordinate trades, deliveries and site logistics
- Lead safety on site, including inductions, SWMS reviews and toolbox talks
- Manage ITPs, inspections and defects through to close out
Who they’re looking for:
- Experience as a Foreman or Site Supervisor in commercial construction
- The confidence to run a smaller job without a site manager above you
- A trade background is highly regarded
- Strong relationships with subcontractors and a practical approach on site
- Open to both new build and refurbishment
- Experience in live environments such as hospitals, schools or occupied buildings is a strong advantage
What’s on offer:
- Responsibility and scale: own your own jobs on smaller projects, and be part of a team on larger projects up to $200m
- Progression: a real pathway into site management, with development from day one
- Work-life balance: fully resourced projects, so the load is shared properly
- Development: a construction manager who invests in his team
- Stability: a secure pipeline for the next two years on diverse and interesting projects
- Flexible start: the right people can start now alongside an existing project team
