Welder / Fabricator – Steel Edging & Installation in Romsey

Fourever Steel & Corten is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator – Steel Edging & Installation to join our team in Romsey, VIC. This is a full-time position based on-site where you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and installation of high-quality steel edging products. You will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and installing steel components that meet our standards and contribute directly to the success of our projects and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding operations on steel components using various welding techniques to ensure strong, durable joints that meet quality specifications.
• Prepare materials and work areas, including cutting, grinding, and finishing steel pieces as required.
• Install completed steel edging products at client sites, ensuring proper alignment, secure fastening, and professional presentation.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment.

What we're looking for

• Recognised welding qualifications or certification (such as a welding trade certificate or equivalent).
• Proven experience in steel fabrication and welding, preferably with steel edging or similar products.
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with metal cutting, grinding, and finishing techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in on-site installation of steel products.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current or ability to obtain a White Card (Construction Induction Card) for on-site work.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials and work in varied conditions.

Fourever Steel & Corten is a Romsey-based specialist in architectural steel and Corten landscape edging. We fabricate and install custom steel edging, tree rings, planter boxes, retaining solutions and other landscape steelwork across Melbourne and surrounding areas. Our work ranges from high-end residential landscaping through to larger commercial and civil projects. We do things differently to standard off-the-shelf edging. Our steel is measured, cut, fabricated and welded to suit each individual project, with a strong focus on clean finishes, straight lines, solid fixing methods and quality workmanship. We’re a small, hands-on team with over 15 years of construction experience and more than 300 completed projects behind us.
