The job role of a formworker involves creating forms for bridges, foundations, beams and staircases, building structures on site, and working with concrete and metal frames.
Key responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and other building materials.
- Constructing, installing and repairing timber frameworks, floors, walls and roof structures.
- Installing doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves and other timber fixtures.
- Constructing and installing formwork and other structural components.
- Operating hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely.
- Ensuring all carpentry work complies with relevant building codes and safety standards.
- Inspecting completed work and making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Working with other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
About you
- A minimum of three years full-time experience as a carpenter
