Foreshore Engineering is a leading structural and architectural steel manufacturer based on the Northern Beaches who are currently seeking a skilled Structural Steel Draftsperson with expertise in Tekla to join our team.
Drafting Responsibilities
- 1. Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and erection drawings.
- 2. Produce detailed bills of materials and cutting lists.
- 3. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and relevant Australian Standards.
- 4. Revise drawings as required following client, engineer, or site feedback.
- 5. Coordinate drawing approvals and document control processes.
- 6. Provide technical support to workshop and site personnel regarding drawing interpretation.
- 8. Prepare detailed material take-offs for structural steel, miscellaneous steel, and custom fabrication projects from Tekla - stick beam model.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Structural Steel Draftsperson, with a focus on Tekla software.
- Tekla Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures software, including 3D modeling and detailing capabilities.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices for structural steel design and fabrication.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality drawings.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve design and drafting challenges effectively.
- Team Player: A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
