Management Accountant in Adelaide

Management Accountant in Adelaide

Adelaide Full-Time On-site
F

If you take pride in accurate, timely reporting and getting the detail right, this role puts you at the centre of Foil Drive's inventory, margin and month-end reporting.

As our Management Accountant, you'll provide the Group Finance Director and management with accurate, timely and insightful financial information across the Foil Drive group. You'll take ownership of how we capture the true cost of what we sell and track where our margin is made or lost, flagging issues early with recommended actions.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of ownership. You'll prepare management reporting for all five group companies within five working days of month end, and you'll partner closely with operations and sales so our inventory is valued and costed correctly.

Key responsibilities

Inventory reporting and costing: own inventory valuation and landed costing globally, reconcile physical to system stock, review stock takes and cycle counts, and provision for slow-moving and obsolete stock, so the true landed cost (purchase price, freight, duty and more) is captured.

COGS and gross margin tracking: build and run proactive reporting by business, product and customer, spot margin erosion early, and recommend what to do about it.

Month-end and management reporting: preparing P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance commentary across five entities, including intercompany and multi-currency consolidation.

Budgeting and forecasting: lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts for each business and the group.

Product costing and profitability: review FIFO and standard costs and bills of materials, and analyse product, channel and customer profitability to support pricing, purchasing and range decisions.

Business partnering: provide analysis, KPI reporting and ad hoc insights to the Group Finance Director and management.

Compliance, systems and controls: support BAS/GST, income tax, EU VAT and US sales tax (with external advisers) and the year-end audit, while driving better finance processes and automation.

About you

You're a numbers person who cares about the story behind them, and you're comfortable working to a tight month-end deadline. You'll bring:

  • CPA or CA qualification (or near completion) and a degree in accounting, finance or commerce
  • 3–5 years' management accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing, distribution or product-based business
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory accounting, stock control, landed costing, and COGS and gross margin analysis
  • Experience preparing multi-entity, multi-currency management reports and consolidations (AU, EU and US), including intercompany reconciliations
  • Experience with ERP and inventory management systems, and a drive to keep improving finance processes
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills, and experience using AI tools
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual presentation skills

Just as important is who you are: honest, reliable, someone who makes and meets commitments, shares knowledge and treats colleagues with respect.
